our adoption story.
Our family is growing...through adoption!
Our heart for adoption comes from Ephesians 1. God chose us to be adopted into His family through Jesus Christ. The depth of God's love is so deep, so wide, and so high.
Shortly after giving birth to our first
child in 2009, we began to ask the Lord what role we should take in caring for the fatherless. In 2011 we answered His call to move to East Asia where we now work and raise our three boys. Through the influence of others in our community, times in His Word and prayer, and a growing knowledge about orphans it was becoming more and more evident that the Lord was moving us toward adoption. In 2013, after the birth of our second son, we began researching adoption agencies and educating ourselves through adoption advocacy websites. After research through countless websites, we paused after learning that we had become pregnant with our third child. Although we paused for the time being, we sensed the Lord still wanted us to adopt so our heart and education on adoption did not stop.
This past summer we felt the Lord was encouraging us to stretch and build our faith. We were excited to hear that our home
fellowship had begun advocating for orphans and adoption. It has been little things like that, and small conversations along the
way that have continued to nudge and encourage us. This past fall we had the opportunity to take
part in a powerful training that challenged us both to seek justice, love mercy and how we can walk humbly with Him. We knew it
was time to step out in faith.
We chose to adopt from China because of our connection and love for the people. China has been home since 2011. Initially we did not know if we would meet the requirements to adopt from China, so we couldn’t be more excited to find that we do meet the requirements. God’s timing and provision is so good.

Now we wait to see how the Lord will continue to provide. We can’t help but feel that our family is not finished growing and that there is a little one that God has created and chosen to be a part of our family. We eagerly wait for how God will move in the journey ahead.
