first tradition: fudge.

one tradition we have is to make first of december fudge.
the tradition use to be make attempt grandma's fudge recipe on the first snow fall.  called first snow fall fudge.
we changed it to first of december fudge because it doesn't snow much here.
we went to school today for the christmas bazaar.  kids took naps.  and low and behold, it started snowing.  on december first!
as soon as H woke from his nap the earnest attempt at grandma ida's fudge began.
H helped and was very interested.  as the butter melted he said, "ooh chocolate butter, yummy."
he loves butter.  he enjoys just eating the butter before it melts over a baked potato.  yuck!
while H loved helping make the fudge.
he couldn't get outside fast enough to play in the snow.  it was a small dusting of snow.  but to a 3 year old, that is a lot!  and he did all he could to create some sort of snowball to throw at me!  when we walked back into the apartment H commented, "now that was fun mom."
{no dirty snow was consumed by either of us.}
 we ended the night with a good ole christmas movie, "a charlie brown christmas."  i love the ending when linus tells charlie brown what christmas is really all about, "fear not, for behold, i bring you good new of great joy that will be for all the people."

Merry Christmas!
