i lied. many times. forgive me.

yesterday we went to the plant market.
we have many plants in our house in attempts to clean the air.
but they needed cute pots.
i am not sure what we were thinking going out on a day that was 90+ degrees.
that is really hot for a three week old little babe!
in america it wouldn't be so bad.  you hop in your car that is parked in the garage and turn on the nice a/c.  drive to where you are going and go inside.
here you have to walk for who knows how long sometimes to find a taxi.
hop inside the taxi and roll down your window.
we drive where ever we are going and it is often outside.
anyways.  M was a bit hot yesterday all bundled in my ergo carrier and baby insert that is quite thick.

when we got to the plant market you would have thought we were celebrities they have all been dying to meet.  we hear the ooh's and aah's and begin to be followed.  everywhere.
then they asked.
"how old is your baby?  is he two months old?"
and at that moment i thought to myself - hmmm.  they think M looks like he is two months old.  surely i can tell them he is three months old.
{in china it is very common to keep your baby inside for 100 days.
and i have heard stories how tough they can be on the parents when they take their child out before 100 days.}
i just was not in the mood to be yelled at yesterday.
{ok.  really i am never in that mood.}
they just don't understand that in our culture we take our babies out much sooner.  they think we are crazy!  {we might be.}
and we really wanted to be in and out of the plant market quickly.
so, i lied.
i told them he was three months old.
then i heard the lady telling everyone that he is three months old.
they would then tell me how small he is.  and i would smile and agree.  he is a small three month old.{because he is only three weeks old.}

i don't like to wish away the days.
but i will be a little less tense however when we venture outside.
