i am so excited to collect my urine! really.

today i had my 20 week ultrasound appointment.
the doctor said i am actually 21 weeks and some days along.
due june 7th now.
each time i see a different doctor my date changes.
who knows.  my next post i might be introducing you to the new heimer baby.

this was my first time going to the hospital in our own city.
{it just opened}
i was a little apprehensive because my experience in another city did not come close to meeting my expectations.
however.
i really really really like my new doctor.
he is from the usa.  which means he gets how i handle my diabetes.  kind of.
diabetes is treated differently in many different countries.
my doctor knew so much about diabetes it was almost annoying.  ha.
because he is going to be super hard core on my sugars being 'perfect'.
{first of all mr. doctor 'perfect' sugar numbers do not exist in the diabetic world.  okay?  okay.}
but.  we are going to strive for perfection.  i guess.

the doctor did not need to consult a book.  the internet.  me.  or anyone else for his knowledge on diabetes and pregnancy.  yay.  {remember my last dr. wanted to take me for coffee so i could teach him.}  HUGE answer to our prayers!

he knows about all the extra appointements i need and special tests.
fetal echo.
non-stress test every week the last trimester.
special ultrasound every week the last trimester.
some other test i get strapped to every week the last trimester.
{i can't remember what it's called.}
tons of blood work.
check my A1c.
keep a close eye on my thyroid.
oh and the lovely urine collection.
i have to collect my pee for 24 hours.
i did this in the states {i don't remember what it is for.  kidneys maybe?}
but i think i was hoping this was one thing an awesome doctor would overlook.
but i knew when he wanted 24 hours of my urine he was a great doctor!
and i know it is probably necessary.  just not fun.
i will stay home all day so i don't miss a drop.

just be careful if you are over at our place.
don't drink the yellow stuff in the fridge.
