deck the walls.

little man LOVES to be artsy fartsy!

yay, because so do i.

we have this wall right next to his room that you see right as you walk in the door.

big enough that it needed a little color added.

a couple days ago we started making stars.

my goal is to make a different star each day until whenever.

oh and they all have to look very different.

first star has some glitter.

next one has sticker circles we made out of my handy tool i brought from the states.

and today we broke out the paint!

i really enjoy the time because it gives us great talk time.

he has become quite the conversationalist.

we talk about christmas and the real true meaning.

and he just eats it up.  swallows.  and digests.  

it is great to see him begin {and by begin i mean, i ask him simple questions like "why do we celebrate christmas?" and he says "Jesus born."} to understand.

"the people walking in darkness have seen a great light;

on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. ...

for to us a child is born,

to us a Son is given,

and the government will be on His shoulders.

and He will be called

Wonderful Counselor,

Mighty God,

Everlasting Father,

Prince of Peace."

i love christmas time.  everything about it.

celebrating His birth.

cookies.

family time.

decorating.

giving.

the music.

the movies.

the smell of yummy candles.

crafts.

this year christmas "looks" a little different.  

i haven't baked one cookie {maybe this sunday}.

and i haven't made any lefse yet {we will see about that}.

our family is thousands of miles away.  yuck.

our decorating is quite different {hard to find decor in a country where they don't celebrate christmas}.

music is playing all day.

we can rent movies from the school library.

and yay.  i found yummy candles at ikea!

and crafts are limited because of supplies.

but one thing remains the same.  

we continue to celebrate and give thanks that Jesus was born.

born so we may have life!
