this is why we eat out a lot.

we eat out lots because it is much cheaper than me cooking.

when i cook at home i always cook a western meal.

tonight i made mac 'n cheese in the oven!

it was so good, but very expensive.

the grand total was around 52 rmb.

which is about $8.18.

i know it probably doesn't sound super expensive,

but i think my idea of what is expensive has changed a lot.

for example i made some raspberry chai tea the other night that i brought from the states.

i looked at the what i paid for it in minnesota.

then i quickly converted it into rmb.

i was shocked that i actually spent that much on tea.  crazy.

while living in america it didn't seem so bad, but in china.  yikes.

last night when we went to the white market for dinner

i think we spent around 14.5 rmb.

which is roughly $2.28.

i probably don't need to tell you which one i preferred.

but we only eat those meals occasionally.

this picture looks kind of gross.

i promise you.  it was fantastic.
