this is what was for dinner.

chad was supposed to be in beijing all day today for a soccer tournament.

but.  the fog and traffic were so bad they had to turn around.

he was home 6 hours earlier than expected.  little man and i were very glad.

we went to what us waiguo ren {foreigners} call the white market for dinner.

we aslo bought little man some mittens because it is starting to get cold.

still looking for snowpants {not sure if you can get those here} and boots.

we had chicken on a stick. and corn.  some fries too, but they were yuck-o.

just not what we expected.

we were quite a spectacle at the white market.

you can't see it but chad has a child carrier on his back.

when little man is in it, he sits a little higher than chad's head.

people look at us like we are crazy.

little man started chomping on the corn like this and then said.

this lady was peeling off the bark like stuff off of the bamboo like looking things with a huge knife.

and then this guy stuck it through this machine.

 and it turned into juice.

it tasted like drinkable honey.

not my favorite.

now i know.
