hope?
tonight we went to dinner at bawarchi's. it is a yummy indian restaurant.
i wish i would have taken pictures of the food.
you'd all be running here tomorrow if you saw it.
on our bus ride home little man and chad sat in the front seat.
picture for a second super serious faces getting on the bus
and being greeted by a super blonde kid saying 'ni hao'.
{he said hello in chinese to every single person who got on the bus.
let me tell ya what. lots of people ride the bus. little man is the best conversation starter!}
their sweet serious faces turned to smiles. giggles. and looks that said 'what the heck, that blonde kid speaks chinese?'.
on our bus ride home we saw many people burning stuff.
in this picture you see two fires with some cars driving in the background.
there are a few other piles that are still smoldering.
this is what I have heard...
when the moon is right, or during certain times, people burn money
so it goes up to their ancestors.
so they have something in the afterlife.
at one point, long ago, they decided burning real money was not a good idea.
now they burn fake money,
along with other things that they want their ancestors to have in the after life.
in the morning you see ash piles all over the sidewalks.
yep.
hope.
who is your hope in?
i'll be dancing on streets of gold.
i hope you will be dancing with me.
